At least a dozen people traveling to Ireland on Sunday were injured when a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Dublin encountered turbulence.

Flight QR017 landed at Dublin Airport around 1:00 p.m. local time. According to a statement from the airport posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, six passengers and six crew members were injured due to turbulence over Turkey.

All passengers were assessed for injuries before disembarking, and eight passengers were taken to the hospital, the airport reported.

Qatar Airways stated to USA TODAY that the incident is currently under internal investigation.

This marks the second significant turbulence incident within a week. Recently, a Singapore Airlines flight en route from London to Singapore encountered severe turbulence and had to divert to Thailand. The incident resulted in one fatality and dozens of injuries.
